Earwax is good for you

"[Earwax] is not intrinsically evil stuff, and consequently does not have to be removed merely because it's present," said Peter Roland, an ear, nose and throat doctor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. "In fact, it serves a function and so if you don't need to take it out, you should just leave it alone."

I know I should leave it alone. And it's not to say I don't hear that little voice telling me the classic "you should never put anything in your ear that's bigger than..." but gosh, it's just so tempting! If I wasn't meant to do something about the stuff then why does it feel SOOOO GOOD to swab my ears? And what the heck else were Q-Tips made for hmmm? I mean really! LOL

Yes. I love wearing public headphones at CD stores. You can alway tell the hits...the headphones go gold. Somehow the hit, "Sixteen Candles" comes to mind. Sorry about that.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but what function does earwax serve? And what happens if I do choose to remove it?

I should have the right to remove it if I want. Maybe I want to donate my earwax to those who are earwax-deficient or something, y'know? =)
